Celebrate National Best Friends Day on June 8 by taking your favorite furry friend to Great American Ball Park for Bark in the Park with the Cincinnati Reds.

Pets are an integral part of many peoples’ lives, so what better way to show them some love than with an event that donates ticket proceeds to the Animal Rescue Foundation, which promotes pet adoption.

"There’s something magical about the way pets make us feel – the instant connection and unconditional love is undeniable," said Madeline Hiller, a public relations representative for Pets Add Life (PAL). PAL is partnering with the American Pet Products Association (APPA) for this event.

Bark in the Park will begin at 6:40 p.m. and will feature a viral video series titled "Pet Feels" on the jumbotron to spread awareness about the bond between humans and animals. The pet expo will also offer samples and photo opportunities. Other Bark in the Park events are scheduled for Aug. 16 and Sept. 12.

Tickets are $50 and provide entry for one dog and one human. Additional human tickets are available for $30 and additional dog tickets are available for $20.

Dogs must enter through Gate I, located at the corner of Joe Nuxhall and Mehring Way. All dogs must be leashed. Retractable leashes are not permitted.

Owners should also come prepared to clean up after their dogs.

Dogs must be accompanied by a ticketed human, who must sign a waiver attesting to the dog's vaccination status.

For tickets and full details, visit the Bark in the Park website. Thinking about adopting a new furry friend? Take the PAL’s quiz to see which canine companion is the best fit for you.
