Springfield police blotter for the week of Sept. 12 to the 17:

Macy’s security at Springfield Mall reported two females stole Polo clothing and ran through the parking lot on Sept. 12 at 1:55 p.m. Officers observed the females and stopped one after a foot chase in the 1100 block of Baltimore Pike. The other female was stopped and released at the scene. A 25-year-old from Woodlyn was taken into custody and processed. She will be charged with retail theft.

Police were back at Macy’s less than an hour later at 2:41 p.m. when security reported that a male had just taken clothing and ran out of the store. Officers saw the suspect, and after another foot chase across Baltimore Pike arrested the 25 year-old from Philadelphia, who will be charged with retail theft.

Employees of the CVS in the 300 block of Baltimore Pike reported a female stole candy and socks and left the store Sept. 13 just after noon. Responding officers found the woman on Andrew Road and took her into custody. She was identified as Ashley Briel, 33, Levittown. She was arraigned and later transported to Delaware County Prison.

While on patrol at 3:17 a.m. on Sept. 13, officers observed two subjects exit the same CVS with employees following behind. The employees reported the two had just stolen merchandise. Both subjects were stopped and found to have soap, underwear, and an iced tea that they had stolen from the store. They both were also found to have active arrest warrants from Philadelphia and Delaware counties. They were taken into custody and identified as James Chambers, 31, and Shawanda McCants,30, both of Philadelphia. They were charged with retail theft and turned over to constables for transport to Delaware County Prison.

Officers responded to Reedman Toll Dodge in the 700 block Baltimore Pike on Sept. 14 at 3:18 p.m. for a report that a fired employee was refusing to leave the business and was being disorderly. Responding officers made contact with the subject inside the business, and he began to threaten officers and challenge them to a fight. After refusing to stop his actions and leave, officers attempted to take him into custody. He fled onto Baltimore Pike before being taken into custody. Davon Cummings, 31, Philadelphia, was charged with making terroristic threats, disorderly conduct and resisting arrest, and held for arraignment.

Employees at the Giant store on the 900 block Baltimore Pike reported a male had stolen a bottle of wine and left on Baltimore Pike on a SEPTA bus Sept 15 at 10:31 a.m. Officers stopped the bus and took the male into custody. He was also found to have stolen from the Wine and Spirits Shoppe and was in possession of marijuana. The 33-year-old from Philadelphia will be charged with retail theft and drug offenses.

A 43-year-old man from Philadelphia was treated for a possible drug overdose on State Road at Rolling Road on Sept. 16 at 10:51 a.m. The male was found to have an active arrest warrant from Brookhaven police, and he was taken into custody and turned over to that department.

Malcolm Cox, 33, of Levittown was taken into custody Sept. 16 at 3:19 p.m. after he tried to enter a house in the 200 block Midland Road. Cox ran from the property when confronted and was located at Scenic at Midland roads. Cox appeared high on narcotics. He was charged with public drunkenness and held until sober.

Officers investigated a disorderly subject in the area of Waverly Road and Yale Avenue Sept. 17 at 1 a.m. Two males had been involved in an incident inside a house that continued into the street when police arrived. One of the males continued to act disorderly outside and threatened officers with a knife and paintball gun, and was verbally abusive. The investigation is continuing and charges are pending.

On Sept.17 at 9:54 a.m., a resident of the first block Greenhill Road reported his fence in the rear of the property was damaged sometime overnight. Panels of the fence appeared to have been kicked. The fence secures the property from Walsh Park.

The Giant store in the 700 block of West Sproul Road reported two males pushed shopping carts containing a large amount of seafood out of the store Saturday Sept.17 at 2:24 p.m., skipping the registers on the way out. They entered a vehicle and fled on Sproul Road. An investigation continues.
