The Berlin Family Food Pantry serves residents of Berlin, as well as non-residents who are employed by the Town of Berlin, or students/families in the Berlin school system. Bolton Access TV: May 15-21: At 8 p.m., tune in for the Friends of the Assabet River, Oxbow, and Great Meadows NWR Annual meeting, which includes a presentation about current activity on the refuges. Then at 10 *p.m., watch the Nashoba High School Senior Showcase Concert. Nashoba Regional High School Pops Concerts: NRHS Bands will perform on Wednesday, May 18, 7 p.m. NRHS Choral groups will perform on Wednesday, May 25,7 p.m. Concerts are held in the auditorium (12 Green Road).  Admission is $5 per person, seniors and students free, payable at the door.  Family friendly, younger musicians are encouraged to attend.  Masks for attendees are required.

Tools of the Time: 19th-Century Farm and Woodworking Tools: part of Freedom’s Way Hidden Treasures Festival of Nature, Culture, and History, Saturday, May 21, 1-3 p.m., the Sawyer House barn at the Bolton Historical Society, 676 Main St.. Carpentry demonstration of tools of the 19th century, including the tools of Amos Evans, a joiner who lived and worked in Bolton. Semiannual Book Sale: hosted by Friends of the Bolton Public Library  Saturday, May 21, from 9:30 a.m.-4 p.m., Houghton Building, 697 Main St.; rain date Sunday, May 22. There are over 5,000 books sorted and “not picked over.” Puzzles, CDs and DVDs. Masks are optional. The book sale is the Friends' largest fundraiser. Proceeds from the sale support programs, events, museum passes and the online newsletter Wowbrary.

Bolton Republican Town Committee: meeting, Thursday, May 26, 6 p.m., program room at the public safety building.  A brief business meeting will start at 6:30 p.m., and will be followed at 7 p.m. by a program led by Dave Lunger, chair of the Acton Town Republican Committee, on what it means to be an American state national.

Nashoba Symphonic Band: includes musicians from almost 30 towns in Central Massachusetts and wraps up the season at Nashoba on Thursday, June 16 at 7:30 p.m. Performances are free. For information on joining, contact David Bailey at baileydavidwayne@gmail.com.

Tom Denney Nature Camp: open for summer 2022. The nonprofit camp will follow state guidelines for social distancing and masking. Kindergarten – ninth graders: Games in the fields and woods; swimming, Predator and Prey, arts and crafts, tracking, hiking, shelter building, campfires and more. Sixth-ninth graders – Eco Adventures program with kayaking, laser tag, water gun fights, nighttime games and s’mores. Summer Star Wildlife Sanctuary: trails open Saturdays through Tuesdays, 11 a.m.-3 p.m. The exhibit, "The Sanctuary of Nature," by the Rockport Art Association and Museum," is on view through Sept. 11 at the Linden Street Gallery, 690 Linden St. The exhibit showcases the landscapes and seascapes of Cape Ann in every season. Memorial Day Plant Sale: hosted by the Boylston Garden Club on the Common, Monday, May 30, 9 a.m.-noon. Inventory will include perennials and annuals. Proceeds go towards beautifying 15 garden sites throughout town. There will also be fundraiser drawing held for a barred owl house. In addition, the Garden Club will be distributing packets of sunflower seeds free to the community (the sunflower is the national flower of Ukraine and has come to be a worldwide symbol of hope for peace.

Spring Bird Walk: on Rauscher Farm, Saturday, May 14, 8-11 a.m., co-sponsored by the New England Chapter of the Wildlife Society. Join wildlife biologist David Cowell in search of migrating neonatal birds. Clinton Tribute Road Race: Saturday, May 14, 10 a.m.; 5-miler, traditional route. Start and finish at the Clinton Elementary, Church Street. Honorees are Bob Bonci and Bill Marsh. Day-of registration and bib pickup starts at 8:34 a.m.; walkers begin at 9:45 a.m. and runners at 10 a.m. The post-race ceremonies begin after the race, approximately 11:30 a.m., and will run until 1:30 p.m. Bill Marsh is the emcee for the post race. Sterling Street Brewery will have a beer tent set up for the post race. All post-race activities will take place adjacent to the finish line.

Museum of Russian Icons:  In support of Ukraine, the museum reinstalls Lesia Sochor's "Pysanka: Symbol of Renewal," through July 24, featuring three new works in response to the crisis. "Tea is for Tradition" exhibit, through Oct. 2, featuring an array of objects associated with tea drinking and the infusion of tea culture in Russian Art, craft and literature, including samovars, wooden dolls. Slavic Language Exploration Day, Saturday, May 14, noon-3 p.m., free with admission, including music, cartoons and crafts. Folk Concert featuring Grunya Ensemble, Sunday, May 15, 2-3 p.m., free with admission, seating limited to 50, available first-come, first-serve. Piano concert featuring Iconoclasts and Cosmopolitans, Saturday, May 21, concert at 2, reception 3:30 p.m.; $35 after before the day; at the door, $40; in collaboration with Ballets Russes Arts Initiative, it explores the USSR's five decades of music. "Images of Atheism: The Soviet Assault on Religion," through Oct. 2. Clinton Night at Polar Park: Wednesday, May 18, to see Worcester Red Sox vs. Scranton Railraiders.  The park is at 100 Madison St., Worcester. Game time, 6:45 p.m. Admission is $20, which includes a $5 donation to the Clinton Public Schools PTA and $2 towards food or merchandise. Item Appeal Representatives: will meet with clients the first and third Wednesdays, 6-7 p.m., in the basement of St. John's Church. The next sessions are May 18, June 1 and 15. Subject to change due to COVID and volunteer availability. Masks required. Money is not given out at the time; this is to fill out the forms to start the process. Funds are still very limited, but representatives will try their best to help those in need.

Clinton Greenway Trust Programs: "Central Mass Railroad: Past and Present," Thursday, May 19, 6:30 p.m., with Ed Sterling talking about the corridor, completed in small sections. This is at the Holder Memorial. Then on Saturday, May 21, 1 p.m., take a guided walk on the Clinton section of the Mass. Central Rail Trail; see and hear about the plans for the trail. Meet at Rauscher Farm, 29 Clamshell Road. Wear hiking shoes or books as the access is rocky. Both events are part of a Freedoms Way Hidden Treasures event. Caregiver Expo: hosted by the Clinton Senior Center Saturday, May 21, 10 a.m.-2 p.m., St. John’s Gym, 149 Chestnut St. This free event provides information and resources to people who care for elderly or disabled family members and friends.

Keely's Ride: to benefit Project New Hope, Saturday, May 21, with chick in from 9:30 to 11:15 a.m. at Turner Hall, 60 Branch St., with the ride starting at 11:30 a.m. (no vehicle left out). Help with Rauscher Farm’s new pollinator meadow in progress. Hear how orchestrated pollination systems increase diversity. Have a plan for a pollinator system in your back yard or community. Clinton High School Food Pantry: open for students and families needing assistance. There is new clothing, personal care items and food to students in need. There are grab-and-go, easy to prepare meals, toiletries and a small selection of diapers. Lancaster History Month programs: continues at the Thayer Memorial Library. Saturday, May 21, 10:30 a.m., featuring an author talk with E. Raymond Tatten, of "Sawyer's Regret," in the Dexter Room. On Sunday, May 22, 2 p.m., the Lancaster Historical Society, Freedom's Way and the Nashua River Watershed Association will present "The Nashua River: How It Has Changed Through the Centuries." Attendees will learn about the history of the Nashua from earliest  times when used by indigenous peoples, through the days of harnessing the river for mill power with resulting pollution, to successful clean-up efforts, and, the outlook for the river moving onward in the twenty-first century. A sign denoting the “Meeting of the Waters” (the north and south branches of the Nashua) will be unveiled on the Center Bridge on the nearby road of the same name immediately following. Nashoba Rock N Brewfest: to benefit The Joseph and Leslie Carr Foundation, Saturday, June 25,at the Fairgrounds at Lancaster, 318 Seven Bridge Road (Route 117). Over 30 breweries and other libation vendors, food trucks, yard games and live band to help those in need. VIP ticket holders 2-6 p.m., regular ticket holders, 3-6 p.m. Admission includes access to unlimited 4oz samples from over 20 different liquor and beer vendors, outdoor yard games, food trucks, and live music. Little Free Pantry: accepting boxed cereals, peanut butter, Nutella, snacks (like chips and fish crackers for children), nonperishable foods like pasta and sauce, diapers, baby wipes, feminine hygiene products and toiletries. No books, expired foods, breads or perishable foods like fresh baked cookies and cakes.  The pantry is located at the First Church, 725 Main St., open 24/7 and stocked by the community for the community.

Safety Festival Weekend: at Davis Farmland for all active firefighters, EMTs, police officers, armed service personnel, correctional officers and veterans. They and immediate family will receive free admission Saturday, May 14 and Sunday, May 15, when accompanied by the safety officer and their valid service ID. Sterling Street Market: returns to Sterling center on May 14. The market will be set up Saturdays, 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Most weeks, the market will be set up on the common but, May 14, the market will be in the parking lot of the Butterick Building. Sterling EMS Scholarships: available for Sterling residents who are training in medically-related training programs. In 2022 the organization voted to increase the amounts of the scholarships to $1,000 for the standard scholarships, $2,500 for the memorial scholarships. Recipients of the standard scholarship are Sterling residents enrolled in a medically-related training program. Recipients of the memorial scholarship are residents who are recent graduates entering an undergraduate, post-secondary educational program in a medically-related field.  Applicants must be graduates (or soon to be graduates) of an accredited high school, possess a GED or have taken the state test of competency for home schooled/alternatively schooled individuals. Applications and the related process will be conducted online. Interested students can download or request an application form on the Sterling EMS Facebook page or email sterling_ems@yahoo.com. Deadline is May 30.

Plastic Bag Recycling Program: sponsored by Wachusett Area Rotary Club, the third Saturday of the month. Bring your recyclable plastic bags to the Draught House, 44 West Boylston St., from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. The goals is to collect 500 pounds of bags within six months with Trex Recycling Programs. All plastic from grocery bags, dry cleaning, newspaper sleeves, product wrap, stretch films, etc., must be clean, dry and free of food residue. Volunteers needed to help. Regional Recycling Center: 131 Raymond Huntington Highway, West Boylston, is open to residents of Boylston, Sterling and West Boylston. Visit wachusettearthday.org for the latest updates on both hours and announcements. Tuesdays, 9-11 a.m.; Thursdays, 4-6 p.m.; and the first and third Saturday of the month, 9 a.m.-noon. Masks are still required inside the ReUse building, but not in the outside areas. Accepting only two boxes per vehicle due to limited volunteers and storage capacity. Face masks are required on the site or in the building. Have your ID ready. The recycle center welcomes home goods, reusable furniture, crafts, sporting goods, fabric, bicycles, school supplies and appliances for swap or to be passed on to families in need. Fees are collected for some items. New volunteers welcome. Check the website, www.wachusettearthday.org, for other fees, hours and virus requirements. The Wachusett Watershed Regional Recycling Center will be closed if the actual or perceived (wind chill or real feel) temperature is predicted to be below 10 degrees Fahrenheit during the open hours. The center will be closed for snow if a significant snow event is ongoing into the open hours, or if the total snowfall is greater than four inches within the 12 hours previous to the center being open to the public.
