Get the thrills of Warren County A&L Fair started early with a copy of the Fair Book, which is available at a number of local businesses, including the Southern Standard.

The fair begins Friday, Sept. 9, which is less than three weeks away. Rides by Crescent City Amusement begin that same day. From 6 to 11 p.m., will be a $20 ride special to get the fair started in dizzying fashion.

When asked what she’ll do when she has to relinquish her crown on Sept. 13, reigning Little Fairest Claire Breedlove said, “I’m going to cry. I’ve had so much fun this year, and I have to wait two more years before I can enter another fair pageant.”

The Little Fairest is for ages 7-9. Breedlove won it at age 7. Her next opportunity will be the Pre-Teen Fairest which is for ages 10-12.

Fair Board president Regan Kelsey is drawing attention to exciting changes for this year.

“The most notable change this year is our carnival, Crescent City Amusements, which will be operating the entire nine days from Sept. 9-17,” he said. “There have been some schedule changes, like the AAUW Baby Show moving to Sunday, and some new events have been added this year.”

New are a Toy Farm Display show, a Fittest of the Fair competition, and a Tunnel to Towers stair climb event.

“We are going to have a lot of local talent out there this year,” said Kelsey. “Virtually every night we are going to have some local band or local performer playing on one of our stages. We have the Antique Equipment stage, the school house stage and the front gate stage.”

Schedules, a list of exactly who will be performing where and when, will be available at the fair office beginning Friday, Sept. 9.

The Warren County A&L Fair Book is also available at warrencountyalfair.org as a download.

“You can download it onto your phone and take it with you,” said Kelsey.

This is the 68th annual Warren County A&L Fair. As always, parking and admission are free.
